* CHRISTMAS EVE * We stayed here on the second floor overlooking the bay. We had a pleasant stay even with the storm that came through that night. The beds were comfy and the rooms were bright, spacious and clean. Plenty of things to do in the area and lots of restaurants nearby, we stopped in that night at the brewery and had a fantastic time.

The rooms were dated but clean. The beds are very comfortable. The office staff were very nice and friendly. I struggled to find a plug in that my chargers and laptop would stay plugged into though .. They were all so worn out the plugs would fall out. I don't have any complaints about the rooms for a work trip but I definitely don't think they are a 4 star hotel anymore... 20 years ago they definitely were. I am not familiar with how hotels get their star ratings but I've recently stayed in different 4 star hotel in Ucluelet for a couple of weeks for work and it was night and day difference in quality.

With a view like this, how can you complain? Rooms are spacious and bright, and the location is great. There are many restaurants, coffee shops, unique boutiques, and beaches within easy walking distance (5-20 mins) in this gorgeous little town. My one minor complaint was parking. We couldn't park near our suite and had to carry our luggage down a flight of stairs to get to our room. Not a big deal for us since we didn't have a lot of luggage, but it could be a problem if you have a lot of luggage or accessibility issues. The rooms are not modern, but they are cozy, which is essential in this climate. When it's 2 degrees and raining, it's much better to have carpet than vinyl floors!! Be sure to try Howlers restaurant kitty corner from the hotel. It's an interesting combination of funky (licenced😁) family restaurant, bowling alley/arcade/billiard. They have a nice local brew on tap and killer fish and chips.
